How long does the content ownership verification take?

  • If you add a snippet to your bio on social media, the content ownership verification happens automatically within less than 1 minute.

  • If you upload your ID, the content ownership verification may take up to 12 hours.

Note

We recommend adding the snippets over uploading ID, as it's the fastest verification option.

I don't want to add a snippet in the bio. How else can I prove content ownership?

  • If you don't want to add a snippet in the bio to prove content ownership, you can upload your ID.

  • Alternatively, you can add the snippet in the bio for 2 minutes and then remove it. It'll help us to verify you're the content creator and not a random person pretending to be a content creator.

How to take a correct photo with an ID or driver's license?

Here are some tips to take your photo correctly:

  • Select a location that has good lighting to take your selfie.

  • Stand in front of a light background; this helps with most camera settings.

  • Hold out your smartphone camera in front of your face - ideally using the screen side camera.

  • Face forward with a neutral expression and hold your ID or driver's license in your other hand next to your face with the profile picture visible.

  • Check that both your face and the ID or driver's license can be seen clearly and are not covered.

  • Below you can see screenshot examples of a good photo (using the above-mentioned tips) and a poor photo for your content ownership verification.
